Daily writing prompt for June 6, 2023

Daily writing prompt
List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?

I pray the Psalms. And I have mentioned authors I have read for many years. Here are a few examples. I also read poetry journals and buy books from small presses.

What jobs have you had?

I have had many jobs, over many years. Examples are working at a bakery in high school, and at a restaurant in college. Teacher and professor in education. Family caregiver. Volunteer work at church and at a nursing home.

I served as a volunteer in education for a few years at The Haiku Foundation, and helped begin The Haiku Foundation Education Resources. We wrote many lesson plans. Jim Kacian is the editor for this work.

And now I am grateful to be here. Thank you.

Yes, I remember

Daily writing prompt
Do you remember life before the internet?

Yes, I remember. I am grateful for blogs, and enjoy reading and writing here. I also am reading library books, and books and poetry journals from my home library. I buy both new and used books.

We began Poems From Oostburg, Wisconsin in December 2009. One of my goals was to reprint some of my poems, and say thank you to the editors and publishers. Perhaps a few new readers discovered their work as well.

Poems For Bulletin Boards began in April 2013. And now it is May 2023!
