Haiku Seasons

snowflakes fall
one-by-one
I read another haiku

blue sky and sun
shadows of spruce tree
on snow-covered yard

they ask to be
in this poem
daffodils

I wonder
what today’s poem may be
lilacs in the wind

small flowers
near the kitchen windows
hummingbird

Summer evening
light fills the evergreens
with old and new growth

grey day
yellow flowers in a vase
by the window

blue gloves rest
on wheelbarrow of weeds
